About Therapy

1153589266Let’s be real…

You’re probably juggling more than a circus clown hopped up on caffeine.

Maybe you’re a 30-something woman, wondering how everyone else seems to have their “adulting” act together (spoiler: they don’t).

Or perhaps you’re navigating the beautiful chaos of being Latinx, LGBTQ+, or both, and you need a space where ‘authenticity’ isn’t just a buzzword.

So, what’s brought you here?

That relationship that feels like a tangled headphone cord?

The career that’s more of a hamster wheel than a dream job?

The general feeling of being overwhelmed by the sheer audacity of life?

2090331634Let’s ditch the small talk.

In therapy, we’ll talk about the real stuff – the messy, awkward stuff you usually only tell your best friend (or maybe your dog).

I’m not here to judge your life choices (unless they involve pineapple on pizza, then we might have a chat).

We’ll have a conversation – with a purpose.

We’ll laugh (probably).

And we’ll definitely figure out some actionable steps you can take to feel better and improve your life.

I’m not going to tell you what to do.

I’m going to help you figure out what YOU want to do.

We’ll untangle it all:

The thoughts that keep you on edge…

The beliefs that limit your potential…

The cycles of behavior you keep repeating…

2601132827Ditch the drama!

It’s time to get the tools you need to handle life’s curveballs.

When you do, you’ll build a life you actually enjoy.

Seriously, let’s get you feeling less like a hot mess and more like the amazing human you are.

No fluff… just real talk and real change. And maybe a few well-placed jokes. Because let’s face it: Life’s too short to be serious all the time.

Let’s chat. Call today and we’ll get started with your free consultation: (718) 618-9290.

About Lydia Vazquez, LCSW-R

AdminWhat had happened was…

I’m a first-generation Puerto Rican who grew up in a matriarchal household in the Bronx.

I saw that my community needed more social support, so I went into social work. I didn’t really know what path to take (or what school – I went to three different undergraduate schools). But I ended up at Lehman College, part of the City University of New York (CUNY)

My quiet heroes were the working adults with children I took weekend classes with. They inspired me to push through and finish. I then got my master’s degree at Hunter College (CUNY) the following year.

I had a lot of “imposter syndrome” when I started working.

But working with mi gente for years in Bronx Hospital cleared that up.

I also came to know my professional value by helping beautiful ladies like my abuelita navigate their Medicaid.

And all those lovely moms coming into my office with their Cafecito… it was a joy counseling them on how to be caregivers.

Now, I get to channel all that experience and energy into my private practice.

¡Gracias!

Thank you for reading about me. I’m glad you’re here.

I can’t wait to get to know more about YOUR hopes and dreams.
