Do you have an office?
I have a virtual waiting room! Since I offer telehealth to NY residents, you don’t have to worry about traffic or finding parking. Just log in, and we’re ready to go.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Absolutely! It runs for about 20 minutes. I believe it’s essential to have a chance to contact me before diving into therapy. The initial consultation allows us to explore your needs and goals and enables you to ask any questions.
What should I do during a consultation or first session?
There may be some first-session jitters. This is normal – absolutely! Find yourself a space where you can be yourself and uninterrupted. Think ‘fortress of solitude’ but with better WiFi – a space where you can truly relax and be open.
Do you accept insurance?
I accept BCBS, Oscar, Aetna, Oxford, United Healthcare, Cigna, Carelon, and Quest.
If you don’t have those insurances, how does payment work?
You can schedule a session and process a payment here on the site. Fees are reviewed in the consultation.
How long is a typical session?
A typical session is approximately 50 minutes.
What can I expect in the first session?
We will discuss your agenda item for that session, arrive at some possibilities and make correlations, ask some reflective questions to consider for the next session (if applicable), and make room for beefing about cold NY weather (or too hot) plus some astrology – maybe, but no promises.
Is therapy hard?
Is parallel parking stressful during rush hour? This is debatable, but therapy can be challenging because it asks you to look at yourself honestly. Think of it as a mental health exercise. It burns, but then you feel relatively good and even outstanding. You and your therapist will make assessments together. Your therapist is to guide you. As the work progresses, it can be transformative.
